Before You Play

Safety & Mechanics

Player Safety

Lines & Veils

Establish clear boundaries before play. Lines are hard limits that are never crossed; Veils are topics that can be implied but never played out in graphic detail.

The X-Card

Any player can invoke the X-Card at any time to stop a scene that makes them uncomfortable — no questions asked, no justification needed.

Check-In Culture

Storytellers and players regularly check in with one another during and after intense scenes to ensure everyone feels safe and supported.

Core Mechanics

Rock-Paper-Scissors

The classic MET resolution system. Challenges are resolved with a best-of-one throw, with ties going to the defender unless a retest is called.

Retests & Willpower

Players may burn relevant abilities or spend Willpower for additional throws, adding tactical depth to every contested action.

Storyteller Adjudication

When rules collide or edge cases arise, the Storyteller has final say. Fair, consistent rulings keep the game moving and the drama alive.

Crowns of Ash and Hunger

Milwaukee, WI, United States

Milwaukee’s Kindred society collapsed two years ago in an event now known as the Severance. What began as shortages in feeding grounds and failing influence networks quickly spiraled into paranoia, violence, and the slow collapse of both Camarilla authority and Anarch organization. By the end of the winter of 2023, the city’s established power structures were gone. The Prince’s court had fallen. The Anarch baronies had fractured. Many Kindred met final death, while others fled the city or vanished into hiding. The chronicle takes place in the aftermath of that collapse. Milwaukee is no longer a stable domain controlled by a single sect. Instead, the city is a patchwork of small territories, temporary alliances, and cautious survivors trying to rebuild something from the ruins. Some Kindred hope to restore old traditions. Others believe the past should stay buried. Most are simply trying to survive long enough to claim a piece of what remains. This is a Camarilla/Anarch BNS/MET Vampire: the Masquerade LARP set in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game focuses on a city still recovering from its own destruction, where influence is fragile, power is uncertain, and the future of the domain has yet to be decided. Players step into a setting where new arrivals, returning survivors, and ambitious opportunists all have a chance to shape what Milwaukee will become.
