Whenever you employ a Necromancy power that does not require an opposed challenge, you can apply that power’s focus benefit even if you do not possess the appropriate attribute focus. For example, you may benefit from the focus effect of the Path of Soul Bonding’s Dark Vessel power, but you may not gain the focus benefit for the Path of Soul Bonding’s Assimilate power if the target wraith is unwilling.
