Some researchers believe that dreams are a way the mind processes trauma, which may be why they feel so real. Or why when waking from a nightmare, the effects linger throughout the day like a persistent shadow over every action. You know of other reasons such nightmares might last and can call upon the powers of the Fallen to inflict their dread onto an already-broken mind at your pleasure.  

To enact this ritual, you must first burn the corpse of someone who has died in a tragic way. While the body burns you must inhale the smoke holding it inside you. You must then concentrate on an individual with whom you have familiarity with. As you exhale the smoke you speak aloud words describing the horrific events of a terrible dream. Additionally, you may also choose one of the six derangement types. Alert your ST that you are casting this ritual and they will engage your target in an opposed challenge using your Dark Thaumaturgy ritual pool. If successful your target experiences a waking dream similar to the one you have described as interpreted by your Storyteller. As long as your target possesses a derangement of any kind, she gains a derangement trait. If she possesses a derangement of the type you have chosen, she gains two derangement traits. You have no way of knowing if your selection was correct. In the event your target possesses no derangements the ritual fails, and you gain the Nightmares Flaw until the end of the next game session.
